Gansu: A Journey Through Mountains, Deserts, and Ancient Wonders

This short travel video takes us across some of the most beautiful places in Gansu, China. Many people may think of Gansu as a dry northwest province, but this video shows a completely different side of it.

In Gannan (甘肃), Zhagana (扎尕那) looks like a hidden mountain village surrounded by green hills and dramatic cliffs. It feels quiet, remote, and almost untouched. In Longnan, Guan’e Valley and Wenxian Tianchi show the softer side of Gansu, with clear water, forests, waterfalls, and peaceful mountain scenery.

Then the view changes again. In Jinchang (金昌), wide purple flower fields create a romantic and colorful landscape. In Zhangye (张掖), Mati Temple and Maijishan Grottoes remind us that Gansu is not only about nature, but also about ancient Buddhist culture and thousands of years of history.

The most famous scenery appears in Zhangye’s Rainbow Mountains, where the colorful Danxia landform looks almost unreal. In Wuwei, the Tengger Desert brings a completely different feeling — quiet, endless, and powerful.
