Lanzhou Wuyi Night Market: A Street Food Paradise in Northwest China

Lanzhou is famous for beef noodles, but the city’s food culture does not stop there. This video takes us into Wuyi Night Market (兰州五一夜市), one of Lanzhou’s lively food streets. As the sky gets darker, the lights turn on, the crowds arrive, and the whole street becomes full of smoke, steam, and delicious smells. The first thing you notice is the atmosphere. Red lanterns hang above the street, food stalls line both sides, and people walk slowly from one booth to another, looking for something good to eat. It feels busy, warm, and very local. The food here is rich and full of variety. There is spicy beef fried rice, crispy pork belly, guobaorou, stir-fried potatoes, rice cakes, wide noodles, and Lanzhou-style oil swirl pastry.
